Sweet As Creative Collective is a design and prototyping studio based in Wānaka. We work with designers, engineers and skiers here at home and overseas.

Skis are our first project. We’re designing, prototyping and refining two skis, designed and tested in New Zealand with local materials wherever we can: a frontside all-mountain ski that holds an edge on Wānaka chalk and ice, and an all-mountain freeride ski for when it’s soft, cut up or steep.

Our long-term goal is to manufacture here in New Zealand and export to overseas markets.

Ski buildPrototype 01, provisional layup

From drawing to press.

Prototype 01 goes together layer by layer: base and edges, the core, reinforcement, the topsheet, then the press. The first test pairs follow.
